Who does what

  1. QB

    Hike it to yourself, fake the handoff to Orange, step back, throw deep to Yellow.

  2. Y
    Yellow

    Run straight deep. The ball is coming.

  3. B
    Blue

    6 steps, then cut to the middle.

  4. O
    Orange

    Run behind the QB like you have the ball. Keep running right.

  5. P
    Purple

    Run straight up 10 steps. Look back for the ball.

What to say

  • Orange: run the fake like you really have the ball.
  • QB: fake the handoff, step back, then throw deep.
  • Yellow: run straight and fast. The ball comes over your shoulder.

Watch for

Orange stops running after the fake, so nobody believes it.

If it breaks down, say

Orange, keep running like you have it!

Drill · 5 minutes · Fake handoff walk-through

Walk the fake three times, jog it twice, run it full speed twice. The defense shouts who has the ball. If they say Orange, the fake worked.
