3 · Sweep Right
No throw needed. Speed to the outside. Handoff to Orange.
Who does what
- QB
Hike it to yourself, step back, hand the ball to Orange as they run past. Then act like you still have it.
- YYellow
Run straight. Make the defense chase you.
- BBlue
Run up, then cut to the middle to pull your defender away.
- OOrange
Run behind the QB, take the ball, run around the right side.
- PPurple
Five steps, stop, turn around. Stay out of Orange's way.
Coach card
What to say
- Orange: make a pocket. One hand on top, one on the bottom.
- QB: hold the ball at your belly and let Orange run through it.
- Everyone else: run your route so defenders follow you, not the ball.
Watch for
The handoff gets dropped because the QB reaches out or both kids stop.
If it breaks down, say
QB stay still. Orange, run through it!
Drill · 5 minutes · Handoff lines
Two lines: QBs and runners. Walk it, then jog it, then full speed. Ten clean handoffs each, then switch lines.
